Choose a date that matters to you, write one goal and plan a small first action. Use a short review cycle so you can adapt your plan. A birthday, a new role or an ordinary day can be your starting point.
Choose a beginning you can act on
A meaningful date can help you name a new chapter, but it does not need to become another reason to delay. If the date you had in mind is months away, you can take a first step now and review again then.

Give the goal an everyday action
Write what you want to work towards and why it matters in your own words. Then choose an action you control. An outcome may depend on other people, but making an application, practising a skill or having a customer conversation is a step you can plan.
Keep the first action small enough to fit this week. If you need several supporting changes, write them down for later rather than trying to begin them all at once.
Create a review instead of a deadline for perfection
Set a check-in after one week to ask what worked and what needs adjusting. A longer review can help you see whether the goal still matters and whether your next steps need changing.
Use your daily focus for the big goal, a positive thought and three tasks. Use a programme if you want prompts. You can return after an interruption without pretending your earlier work disappeared.
